COVID-19 UPDATE
More InfoDid you know that the majority of the U.S population is missing at least one tooth? That is over 150 million people! If it is a front tooth or a molar does it matter? Yes! Besides the aesthetics, it does matter.
The main issue when you lose a tooth is bone loss and tooth support. The bone that normally surrounds the tooth, over time, loses its shape. This is because the bone requires stimulation (from the tooth) to keep its shape and stay healthy. Once the bone is lost, it weakens the adjacent bone and over time your teeth will begin to shift.
Once enough teeth are lost or have shifted, the ability to chew or speak clearly will decrease. Aesthetically, facial features will also change. Without the supporting bone structure, the contours of your face can change making your face have a “sunken in” look. This can make you look older than you really are.
Thankfully, technology in the dental world has advanced where dental implants are a permanent solution. Not only will dental implants last you a lifetime, but it will give you the confidence you deserve.
